Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where did you get the name BeijaFlor? Does it mean anything?

A. BeijaFlor is what the Brazilians call a hummingbird. It literally means "Flower Kisser" (or in an exact translation "it kiss flower").

Q. So is that why you have a picture of a hummingbird as your logo?

A. Yes.

Q. Why did you use that name?

A. Apart from the fact that I liked the name and description, I do take a lot of pictures of flowers and nature subjects in general. I also have painted many pictures of flowers. It seemed like a good name and one not likely to have been used already in Canada.

Q. Is the logo a painting or a photograph? It doesn't look quite like a photograph.

A. It started as a photograph. I then made it look like a cross between a painting and a photograph to reflect the fact that I do both photography and painting.

Q. What type of photographs do you specialize in?

A. Wildlife (animals and birds), landscapes, flowers, pet portraits, and some Oriental dance portraits for friends. No wedding photography!

Q. You mentioned pet portraits. I don't see any pictures of pets on your web site, so where are they?

A. The portraits of pets and people with their pets are on a separate web site as it is a completely separate business area. If you are interested, please visit www.woofphotos.com (or www.woofphotos.ca).
